Park Grant
Our park on Smith Street has fallen into severe disrepair through the past several years because of neglect and a lack of funds to fix it as you can seen from the pictures on the right. Some of the equipment in use at the park today is the original equipment that was there when the Village aquired the property decades ago. In order for any reconstruction to take place, funds had to first be secured. Because of the size of this capital project, many thousands of dollars would be needed. Thanks to the help of past Youth Commissions and their members a $150,000 matching grant was awarded to the Village by New York State. Plans are drawn up and work has begun.
